The Cockspur Beacon on Cockspur Island about 12 miles East of Savannah Georgia marks the South Channel of Savannah River, off Fort Pulaski. The first brick structure was build around 1837. When Fort Pulaski surrendered to Union Forces, the lighthouse suffered minor damange. The Tybee Lighthouse can be seen in the background.

I have painted in oils, acrylics and watercolors, and recently concentrating more on watercolors based on the wonderful serendipity of the medium and plein air painting and sketching which is a work in process.
